He is definitely in one of his best forms. Lee Chong Wei cruised into his third consecutive finals at the Yonex- Sunrise Hong Kong Open with an excellent win over Angus Ng Kah Long of Hong Kong China. Chong Wei gave a scare to the fans in the first games and at one point, it seemed as if Angus was going to win. Chong Wei only led twice and thankfully, he managed to catch up from three points down at 15-18 to 18-18 and 19-19 before wrapping up the game 21/19.

However, unlike his first game, Chong Wei played a more consistent game and he never allowed the Hong Kong Chinese to even come close dominating the game from the start an eventually winning 21/14. Despite losing his match to the Malaysian, credits goes to this player for coming thus far and pulling off an upset against Olympic champion, Lin Dan of China in the second round.

As for Chong Wei who has been moving up in his world rankings steadily especially in the last one month, another title is expected to come his way when he meets Chinese youngster, Tian Houwei who defeated, qualifier, Ginting Anthony of Indonesia this afternoon. The both have met once two years ago with the Chinese emerging as the winner. However, with his current form, the former world number one is expected to win in tomorrow’s match.
