Tokyo – National No. 1, Lee Chong Wei had a stroll in the park disposing his opponents in the qualifying rounds today. He bulldozed Scottish player, Alistair Casey, 21/3, 21/3 and defeated youngster, Kwang Hee Heo of Korea in the second round to qualify for the main draw of the Yonex Japan Open.

Awaiting him in the first round tomorrow is another senior player, Boonsak Ponsana from Thailand. Boonsak who took a break for his wedding early of this year is now working hard to qualify for a record, fifth Olympics next year in Rio. The 33 year-old who is known as the ‘Superman’ of Thailand is currently ranked 26 in the world and is surely hoping to improve his ranking.

As for Chong Wei, this will be his 25th time playing against the Thai and the latter has only beaten the former world number one twice in the year 2008. Therefore, it is a very high possibility for the 2012 Olympics silver medalist to progress to the next round.
