DATUK SERI NORZA IS CONFIDENT THAT LCW IS ABLE TO BRING BACK A MEDAL FOR MALAYSIA IN RIO

Bukit Kiara – The Coaching & Training (C&T) committee meeting was held today to discuss on matters pertaining to coaches’ and player’s performance throughout the year as well as Morten’s future planning in terms of the coaching and training structure. The meeting was headed by BAM’s deputy president, Ybhg. Datuk Seri Mohamad Norza Zakaria.

Among the topics discussed were the preparation of the players for next year’s Olympic Games in Rio, selection of players for the upcoming World Junior Championships and the podium program that was introduced by the National Sports Institute (NSI).

Datuk Seri Norza mentioned that he together with the committee members were happy with the performance and planning done by Morten and the team.

“We as the committee will provide the necessary assistance and guidance for Morten to deliver the task that has been assigned to him,” said the deputy president.

In addition, Datuk Seri Norza commented that for the Olympics next year, they do not want players to just qualify for this prestigious event but also to produce results as is it better to have quality instead of quantity that will produce results that are only mediocre.

“We did discuss regarding the specification for each players. For example, we spoke to Morten on how we could strengthen and improve Lee Chong Wei’s preparation ahead of the Olympics since the probability of securing a medal is very high,” added Datuk Seri.

Besides that, he mentioned that Chong Wei will be accompanied by either Hendrawan or Tey Seu Bock at all time. Before leaving, Datuk Seri Norza also announced the list of players that will be representing the country in the World Junior Championships that will be held this November in Lima, Peru.
