It is very frustrating when you lose to the same opponents three times in the last four months but V Shem/ Wee Kiong should not give up or lose hope knowing that they have a bigger assignment ahead which is the Olympics games in Rio next year.

In today’s quarter-final match at the Yonex Japan Open Superseries, they were once again defeated by the formidable Indonesian pair, Angga Pratama/ Ricky Karanda, 16/21, 13/21 in just 28 minutes. The first time they lost to the Indonesians were during the SEA Games team event finals back in June and that was followed by the second defeat at the Yonex Chinese Taipei Open in July.

V Shem/ Wee Kiong is considered as one of the top doubles players in the world having done well against higher ranked players like Lee Yong Dae/ Yoo Yeon Seong and Sin Baek Cheol/ Ko Sung Hyun. However, they will have to examine whether it is their mental or physical strength which is causing them to lose to the same pair till now.
