Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani’s strong run came to an end at the Macau Open semi-finals.

The world No. 28 gave a good account of themselves when they stretched the world No. 3 China pair of Li Junhui-Liu Yuchen 16-21 20-22.

Izzuddin bemoaned their lack of patience against experienced counterparts caused them the match.

“We were too eager to go for the kill but ended up committing errors. We should have been more patient,” said Izzuddin.

In the mixed doubles, Hoo Pang Ron-Cheah Yee See’s bid to reach their second final this year was thwarted at the Macau Open by sixth seeds from Chinese Taipei, Wang Chi Lin-Cheng Chi Ya.

The national mixed doubles fought valiantly before being going down 12-21 21-15 20-22 in the 62-minute thriller.

“I think we have really given our all in the match. We fought all the way but their experience was the difference,” conceded Pang Ron.
