PENG SOON/ LIU YING TO FACE TOP SEEDS IN SEMIS

It was another great day for Peng Soon, Liu Ying at the China Masters Grand Prix Gold when they upstaged Chinese pair, He Jiting/ Du Yue, 21/17, 21/17 to advance to the semi-finals of tournament.

 

The duo has been exceptional winning the SKYCITY New Zealand Open last month and finishing second at the Celcom Axiata Malaysia Open Superseries Premier two weeks ago.

 

All badminton players in the international circuit will only have one week to do their very best before the qualifying period for the Rio Olympics end in April. Hence, Peng Soon/ Liu Ying who are eyeing to compete in the world’s most prestigious Games are surely heading in the right direction.

 

“We were happy with our performance today and we did not make too many unforced errors. Tomorrow will be a tough match but nothing is impossible. We defeated them at the Malaysia Open this month and we hope to repeat the same feat and the most important is to stay focus and perform our best,” said Liu Ying from a telephone conversation.

 

The Malaysian will face Xu Chen/ Ma Jin who are the top seeds in the semi-finals tomorrow and a win will see them competing against seventh seed, Zheng Si Wei/ Chen Qingchen of China or Yuta Watnabe/ Arisa Higashino of Japan.
