Former National No 1 women's single shuttler, Tee Jing Yi is enjoying a new lease of life in her badminton career after switching to women's doubles.
Partnering Joyce Choong in her second international tournament, the duo qualified for the main draw of this week's CELCOM AXIATA Malaysia Open World Superseries being held in Kuching, Sarawak.
The pair defeated India's Mahima Aggarwal-K. Maneesha 21-13, 21-14 and Germany's Johanna Goliszewski-Lara Kaepplein 22-20, 21-19 in yesterday's qualifying rounds to set up a first round meet with sixth seeds - Luo Ying and Luo Yu of China.
"Making the main draw is itself an achievement. We will give our best in today's match," said Jing Yi.
