Some of the Malaysian juniors are currently competing at the Yonex Korea Junior Open Badminton Championships 2015 held in the city of Gwangju. Among the juniors that competing are Chin Wai Kin, Muhd Iqram, Wong Wai Jun, Sim Guo Zheng and two players from the recent world junior squad, M. Thinaah and Teoh Mei Xing. Malaysia only sent players in the Under-19 event.

The boys’ singles Under-19 began on Monday but both Wai Kin and Iqram received a bye in the first round. On Tuesday, Wai Kin defeated Yeo Jae Won of Korea in two games and today, he defeated Lee Hyun Min in match that only lasted for 25 minutes. On the other hand, Iqram was shown the exit by another Korean, Kwon Yong Uk in three games, 16/21, 21/18, 21/7 yesterday evening.

In the girls’ singles, second seed, M. Thinaah who received a bye in the first round was off to a great start after beating Kim Han Sol and she next faces Kim Hyang Im for a place in the quarter-finals. Thinaah will partner Teoh Mei Xing in the girls’ doubles later tonight. The others who will be in action tonight are
