AFFIN Group is proud to announce the renewal of its three-year partnership with the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), reaffirming its role as the Official Bank Partner. This renewed collaboration underscores AFFIN’s commitment to elevating Malaysia’s national sport while inspiring a new generation of badminton enthusiasts and fostering unity and sportsmanship across the nation.

As part of the partnership, AFFIN remains a joint title sponsor for BAM’s flagship junior development programme, AFFIN 100 Plus Junior Elite Tour, which will feature tournaments nationwide. This initiative aims to nurture emerging talent and instill a spirit of excellence in young players. In addition, the AFFIN logo will be prominently displayed on the national team’s tournament shorts and training jerseys, symbolising steadfast support for Malaysian badminton.

The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony held in conjunction with the Meet and Greet session featuring Malaysia’s national Olympians, exclusively for AFFIN’s valued customers. The event, marking the conclusion of the current partnership tenure and the beginning of a renewed commitment, was attended by BAM’s Acting President, YBhg. Datuk V. Subramaniam, and AFFIN Bank Berhad’s President & Group Chief Executive Officer, YBhg. Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah, at Menara AFFIN @ TRX.

President & Group Chief Executive Officer of Affin Bank Berhad, Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah said, “AFFIN is proud to continue supporting badminton—a sport that embodies the passion, resilience, and determination of Malaysians. Badminton is more than just a game; it is a unifying force that inspires us to strive for excellence. Through this partnership, AFFIN is committed to contributing to the nation’s sporting aspirations and fostering a culture of sportsmanship and achievement. He further highlighted AFFIN’s long-term vision for Malaysian badminton.

“Our collaboration with BAM represents an investment in the future of Malaysian sports. Over the next three years, AFFIN aims to support the training and development of national players as they compete in prestigious international tournaments, including:

  • The 2025 SEA Games in Bangkok, Thailand
  • The Sudirman Cup 2025 in Xiamen, China
  • The 2026 Thomas Cup in Horsens, Denmark
  • The 2027 SEA Games in Sarawak, Malaysia

Beyond these events, we are equally dedicated to supporting BAM’s grassroots programmes, ensuring a robust pipeline of young talent to carry Malaysia’s badminton legacy forward.”

BAM Acting President, YBhg Datuk V. Subramaniam echoed these sentiments, expressing deep appreciation for AFFIN’s support: “The renewal of our partnership with AFFIN is a testament to the power of corporate collaboration in advancing Malaysian badminton. Their steadfast support not only strengthens our development programs but also ensures we can create meaningful opportunities for young players to thrive. We are proud to have AFFIN—a trusted and valued Malaysian brand—stand with us as we strive to elevate the sport to greater heights.”

This renewed partnership between AFFIN and BAM reflects a shared vision of excellence, unity, and the relentless pursuit of greatness. Together, they champion the values of sportsmanship that make badminton a cherished national treasure.
