In the mixed doubles, world No. 48 Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei were beaten 19-21 21-19. 16-21 by world No. 26 Ishaan Bhatnagar-Tanisha Crasto.
With the defeat, Malaysia finished second to India in Group B but both teams qualified for the last eight.
