Malaysia proved their strength in depth after a youthful second string side managed to sweep aside minnows, Kazakhstan 5-0 to advance into the Badminton Asia Team Championships (BATC) 2022, as well as qualify for the Thomas Cup finals.
22-year-old Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin got the ball rolling by defeating Artur Niyazov 21-11 21-12.
Lim Chong King then doubled the lead by beating Khaitmurat Kulmatov 21-11 21-11, while the youngest member of the squad, Jacky Kok Jing Hong sealed the win after thrashing Makhsut Tajibullayev 21-8 21-4.
The remaining two doubles matches were a stroll for team Malaysia with Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Win inflicted more damage on the Kazakh team with a 21-5 21-5 hammering of Jangir Ibrayev-Ilya Lysenko in the first doubles.
Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani made it five out of five for Malaysia, when they thumped Andrey Shalagin-Makhsut 21-8 21-4.
