This will include tournaments in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur and Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya. As part of the sponsorship, the AFFIN logo will be prominently featured on the national team tournament shorts and training jerseys.

The sponsorship agreement was signed by the President of BAM, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria while AFFIN Group was represented by its President & Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah.

President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Affin Bank Berhad, YBhg. The popularity of badminton is a game changer for nation building and we are fully committed in supporting the government's commitment to achieving sporting excellence.”

“As badminton resonates strongly among Malaysians, AFFIN looks forward to supporting BAM in taking the sport to a higher level. Our support will also help to enhance the training and preparation of the national players in various badminton tournaments including the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, as well as contribute to BAM’s overall development programmes,” he added.

“We have been discussing this partnership for some time, but things were put on hold due to the pandemic. We recently finalised the details and today I am pleased to announce the win-win partnership with AFFIN,” said BAM President, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria at a press conference today.

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Norza stressed the timing of the latest partnership. “I would like to reiterate that the support from corporate companies is crucial for our continued growth, development programmes and youth competitions. BAM’s focus these next two years is on the Paris Olympics, as such we require all the assistance possible to help us achieve our dream of winning the nation’s first Olympic gold medal. I am especially delighted to have another Malaysian giant coming on board with BAM.”
