Jin Wei, ranked 69th in the world, will also face a tough task in the second round when she takes on world No. 1 from Chinese Taipei, Tai Tzu Ying.
National mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Valeree Siow created a surprise after beating the world's 12th ranked pair from Germany Mark Lamsfuss- Isabel Lohau, 21-17, 21-11, in 33 minutes.
Chen-Valeree, who is ranked 150th, will be up against Thailand’s Supak Jomkoh -Supissara Paewsampran, ranked a lofty 22nd.
Another national pair Hoo Pang Ron-Toh Ee Wei also excelled into the second round after beating South Korean pair Kim Won Ho-Jeong Na Eun with 22-25, 21-8, 21-7.
Their opponent in the second round will be world No. 4 mixed doubles from China, Wang Yi Lyu-Huang Dong Ping.
