Objective
The national ranking system is an objective method of determining the ranking of badminton players in every category in Malaysia. It combines both international and local tournaments - thereby giving due recognition to players who lacked opportunities and exposure to play in international tournaments.
Mechanism
All Malaysian players participating in the BWF or any local tournaments (from under 18-years old level tournament to the senior level) will receive points according to the national ranking points as stated below:

The national ranking system takes into account ten best BWF tournaments (as reflected in the BWF ranking) and five best local tournaments in the latest 52 week-period.
The ranking list will be updated on the first Tuesday of each month.
