Justin Hoh made light work of Bangladesh’s Gourab Singha in the Round of 32, cruising to a 21-8, 21-7 victory in just 24 minutes, before falling to Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew 14-21, 14-21 in the Round of 16 during the evening session.

Wong Ling Ching fell short of advancing after a closely fought three-game defeat to India’s World No. 24 Unnati Hooda, going down 14-21, 22-20, 19-21.

Leong Jun Hao produced another convincing performance against Mongolia’s Batdavaa Munkhbat, repeating his team-event win earlier this week with a 21-11, 21-14 victory.

However, Jun Hao fell to sixth seed Alwi Farhan of Indonesia in the Round of 16, 16-21, 11-21.

World No. 5 Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah cruised into the quarter-finals after brushing aside Thailand’s Hathaithip Mijad-Napapakorn Tungkasatan 21-2, 21-12.

In men’s doubles, Aaron Chia-Tee Kai Wun’s quarter-final hopes came to an end after a 19-21, 16-21 defeat to top seeds Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Jae of Korea.

World No. 6 Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani overcame Japan’s World No. 9 Takuro Hoki-Yugo Kobayashi 21-19, 21-16 to take a 4-3 lead in their head-to-head record and advance to the quarter-finals.
