BWF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023: BRONZE MEDAL FINISH FOR AARON-WOOI YIK

Malaysia settled for one bronze at the BWF World Championships 2023. The solitary medal came through last year's champions, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik.

The world No. 4 men's doubles lost to Korean foes, Kang Min Hyuk-Seo Seung Jae 23-21 21-13 in the semi-finals.

Aaron said: "The past is the past. Our target after this is the Asian Games next month. We will be preparing for that."

Two other pairs, Pearly Tan-M Thinaah and fast-rising Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei were stopped in their tracks in the quarter-final stage against China's Zhang Shu Xian-Zheng Yu (17-21 21-17 21-19) in 76 minutes and last edition's runners-up Yuta Watanabe-Arisa Higashino of Japan (11-21 11-21) respectively.

In the men's singles, Lee Zii Jia and Ng Tze Yong lost to the same foe, Anders Antonsen in Round 3 (18-21 17-21) and Round 2 (22-24 16-21) respectively.
