National men's doubles pair, Nur Izzuddin Rumsani-Goh Sze Fei bagged their maiden World Tour title after powering past China's Liu Yu Chen-Ou Xuan Yi at the 2022 German Open final.

Five years on from their last final appearance at the 2017 Malaysia Masters, the World No. 17 displayed nerves of steel in Mulheim to overcome few in-game setbacks which include Izzuddin sustaining an injury in the third set.

Teamwork and understanding between the two long-time partners were apparent as Sze Fei covered for his injured partner whose movements were visibly restricted before Izzuddin delivered the final blow through his powerful smash to end the game 23-21 16-21 21-14.

The win will definitely give a boost to Izzuddin-Sze Fei ahead of their All England opener against He Ji Ting-Tan Qiang of China.
