Malaysia celebrated a historic breakthrough as Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani captured their first SUPER 1000 title at the Indonesia Open 2026 in front of a packed Istora Senayan crowd.
The victory marks the biggest title of their careers and their second BWF World Tour title since winning the China Open 2024.
The world No. 8 pair staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Indonesia's Nikolaus Joaquin and Raymond Indra (13-21, 21-18, 21-10) in the men's doubles final.
After dropping the opening game, Sze Fei and Izzuddin regrouped to take control of the match. The Malaysians raised their intensity in the second game to force a decider before dominating the third with their trademark attacking play.
Leading comfortably for much of the final game, the Malaysians maintained their composure to seal the title with a convincing 21–10 victory.
The triumph also extended their head-to-head advantage over the Indonesian pair to 2-1, having previously defeated them at the Indonesia Masters earlier this year.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Sze Fei and Izzuddin produced another standout performance by overcoming reigning champions and world No. 1 pair Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae of Korea in three games (21-18, 17-21, 21-16).
