Mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei's Olympic dreams end in the quarter-finals of the Paris Olympics. The world No. 9 duo lost to South Korea's world No. 8 pair, Kim Won-ho and Jeong Na-eun, in a 41-minute match, with scores of 19-21 and 14-21 at Port de la Chapelle.

In men's singles, Lee Zii Jia has advanced to the last 16 of the Olympic Games. Zii Jia dominated Spanish veteran Pablo Abian, winning 21-10 21-13 in his second Group G match. The world No. 7 will now face Frenchman Toma Popov for a spot in the quarter-finals.

Women's singles shuttler Goh Jin Wei came heartbreakingly close to advancing but fell short in her second Group H match. The Olympic debutant fought valiantly before narrowly losing to South Korea's Kim Ga-eun, with scores of 17-21, 22-20, and 21-23.
