World No. 3 pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik showcased their resilience and fighting spirit in a dramatic comeback victory in Port de la Chapelle. They fought back to win six consecutive points, snatching the second game 22-20 to stay in contention and forcing the match into a deciding third game. In a tense and fluctuating rubber game, the Malaysians ultimately triumphed 21-19.

This impressive win served as sweet revenge for Aaron and Wooi Yik, who had previously lost to Astrup and Rasmussen at the Singapore Open in June.

Their victory also secured Malaysia's first medal at the Paris Olympics, making them the first Malaysian doubles pair to win two Olympic medals.

Their determination and grit were on full display as they bounced back from a heartbreaking 19-21, 21-15, 17-21 semi-final defeat to China’s world No. 1 pair Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang.
