BIOGRAPHY
Ewe Eon first picked up a racket aged eight and hasn’t put it down since.
A product of Bagan Serai BC, his prodigious talents were then spotted by Perak BA at the tender age of 10 when participating at a junior circuit tournament in Perak.
The 14-year-old boys’ singles shuttler never looked back, joining the Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS) setup last year under the tutelage of U-15 head coach, Hafiz Hashim.
He has grown from strength to strength – finishing as runner-up in Smiling Fish in his first year with BJSS and then turning heads with composed displays overcoming senior opponents on his way to a second-place finish at the VICTOR National U-18 Championships in Alor Setar.
WHAT THE COACH SAID
Hafiz Hashim: "Eogene is a rally player who has a wide-range of skills in his badminton arsenal. Despite being only 14 years old - his maturity on the court, technical abilities belied his youth."
