The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is deeply saddened by the passing of former national badminton great, Datuk Teh Kew San, at the age of 91. He was the former captain of Malaysia’s victorious 1967 Thomas Cup team.
A versatile and distinguished player, Datuk Teh Kew San brought immense pride to the nation through his achievements on the international stage, including winning the All England men’s doubles title in 1959, the Asian Championships men’s singles gold medal in 1962, men’s team gold medals in 1962 and 1965, as well as the mixed doubles gold medal at the 1962 Asian Games. He also played a key role in helping Malaysia capture the Thomas Cup in 1967.
His contributions and legacy will forever remain an important part of Malaysian badminton history.
