SEA GAMES 21: MALAYSIA MEN'S TEAM FINISHES WITH SILVER

A young Malaysian team lost 0-3 in the SEA Games men's team event final to Thailand who clinched their first team gold since 1975. Leading singles, Kunlavut Vitidsarn won the first point against Kok Jing Hong 21-10 21-15.

Hopes were harboured on the shoulders of senior members of the young team, Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun to draw level. However, their brave efforts were thwarted by Chaloempon Charoenkitamorn-Nanthakarn Yordphaisong 22-20 22-20. Wei Chong also picked up an injury to his left knee cap after the back-and-forth battle.

Khosit Phedpradab then sealed gold for the Thais with come from behind win over determined Lee Shun Yang 16-21 21-13 21-19. 

The result also saw Malaysia defending their silver from 2019 edition in Manila, Philippines
