Young women’s doubles pair, Dania Sofea Zaidi and Low Zi Yu, continued their trajectory by clinching their first senior title at the Slovak Open.

The teenage duo — Dania, 17, and Zi Yu, 14, overcame teammates Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan, 18 and Nur Aina Maisarah Hatta, 16,  21-17, 21-19 in Sunday’s final in Bratislava.

The win marks their second international title of the year, having previously captured the Dutch Junior crown in February. The pair were also silver medallists at last year’s World Junior Championships.

It was a commendable showing as well for Noraqilah and Nur Aina, who reached their first final together.

In the men’s doubles event, Loh Ziheng-Tan Zhi Yang settled for silver after a hard-fought 15-21, 21-12, 19-21 loss to Poland’s fourth seeds Adrian Krawczyk and Szymon Slepecki.

Meanwhile, in the semifinals, women's singles shuttler Eng Ler Qi fell to Taiwan's Liao Jui-chi 17-21, 13-21, while mixed doubles pair Tan Zhi Yang- Nicole Tan lost 13-21, 18-21 to top seeds and eventual champions Mihajlo Tomic and Andjela Vitman of Serbia.
