Choong Hon Jian-Haikal Nazri emerged victorious as the new champions of the Super 300 Syed Modi International. The Malaysian men's doubles duo, who joined forces in August, secured their inaugural international title on Sunday.
In a stunning performance, they defeated tournament's top seeds Akira Koga-Taichi Saito of Japan with a scoreline of 18-21 21-18 21-16 in the final held in Lucknow, India.
Their determined run to the title included notable victories over higher-ranked pairs such as Mark Lamfuss-Marvin Seidel of Germany and Ben Lane-Sean Vendy of England.
This triumph marks a significant milestone for Hon Jian-Haikal , who had previously reached the Super 100 Indonesia Masters final in October as their best result before this remarkable achievement.
