The Malaysian Uber Cup team pulled off a 3-2 win against Türkiye powered by Letshanaa Karupathevan, Goh Jin Wei and Low Zi Yu-Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan.
K. Letshanaa opened the tie strongly, overcoming Türkiye’s Neslihan Arin in three-games (21-16, 13-21, 21-13).
Wong Ling Ching then fell in a hard-fought match against Özge Bayrak (17-21, 21-15, 18-21).
Goh Jin Wei restored Malaysia's lead in straight-games over Zehra Erdem (21-14, 21-13).
The newly formed pair Ong Xin Yee alongside team captain Thinaah Muralitharan put up a good fight but were edged out by Bengisu Erçetin and Nazlıcan İnci (22-20, 19-21, 19-21).
In the decider, debutants Zi Yu-Aqilah delivered a crucial win over Yasemen Bektaş-Zehra Erdem (21-18, 21-19) to seal the match for the national team.
Malaysia will next face South Africa in the upcoming tie.
