We Are On Top of the World!
Malaysian men's doubles pair, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik created history today by becoming the country's first world champions in badminton after a thrilling 21-19 21-14 win over three-time winners, Mohammad Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia in the final in Tokyo.
With so much at stake, the world No. 6 proved their mettle with a victory over their much fancied counterparts to end the country's agonizing 45-year wait for the top prize in world badminton.
The national men's doubles duo came in with a clear strategy in mind, forcing their opponents to play longer rallies for each point.
Aaron delivered the final blow through a picturesque drop shot to seal the momentous victory.
