Genevie Lim-Low Zi Yu kept Malaysia in contention for the title, booking their place in the final with a strong semi-final performance.

Genevie-Zi Yu sealed their place in the final with a 32-minute straight-game triumph over China’s 15th seeds Shi Si Chen-Xiang Yu Jin, 15-9, 15-11.

The victory marked Genevie-Zi Yu’s second consecutive win over the Chinese pair, following their quarter-final triumph at the individual event of the Asia Junior Championships 2026.

Zi Yu’s journey to the final began in 2024, when she reached the title match at just 14 years old alongside Dania Sofea Zaidi, eventually finishing as runner-up.

A year later, she returned to the final with Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan, which also ended with silver medals.

Now back in the final for the third consecutive year, Zi Yu has another chance to break the runner-up streak and claim the title.

The final clash is set for Genevie-Zi Yu to take on Japan’s Nijika Kamata-Shizuku Kashio.
