Club Accreditation System

CLUB ACCREDITATION SYSTEM

In order to encourage the development of clubs and to widen the stakeholders in the development of badminton at the grassroots, the Task Force recommends the implementation of an “Accreditation System for Clubs”. This system is widely used in Europe.

BAM sets the criteria for three levels of clubs:

  • 3-star club
  • 2-star club
  • 1-star club

These criteria are divided broadly into seven (7) sections, accordingly to the level of club:

  1. Legal / Governance
  2. Facilities
  3. Coaches
  4. Elite Junior Program
  5. Grassroots Program
  6. Tournament Organisation & Participation
  7. Finance

APPLICATION PROCESS:

  1. Club who wishes to get accredited can complete the Application Form and submit the Application Form together with relevant supporting documents to club@bam.org.my
  2. The application must also be copied to the State Badminton Association in which the club is based.
  3. Application fee is as follows:
    1. Application for 3-star club: RM1,000
    2. Application for 2-star club: RM500
    3. Application for 1-star club: RM100

Note:

  • All application fees shall be banked into the following bank account:
    • Name: PERSATUAN BADMINTON MALAYSIA
    • Account No.: 21418310121207
    • Bank Name: RHB Bank Berhad
  • In the payment reference column, please indicate your club name, followed by the alphabets “CA”. Example, if your club name is United BC. Then in the payment reference, please write UNITEDBCCA
  • There will be no reimbursement of fees should the club fails in its application.
  1. Deadlines:
    1. Phase 1:
      1. Application: August – October each year (deadline 31 October)
      2. Decision: by 31 December each year
    2. Phase 2:
      1. Application: March – April each year (deadline 30 April)
      2. Decision: by 30 June each year

SUCCESSFUL CLUB:

  1. Successful Club will receive recognition from BAM and a certificate indicating their ‘star’ level.
  2. This certificate, together with the BAM logo, may be used by the Club in the promotion and advertising of the Club provided it meets BAM’s commercial guidelines.
  3. A certificate and BAM recognition is only valid for a 2-year period.
