The visit by participants of the 27th National Olympic Academy (NOA) Session for Young Olympic Ambassadors to the PETRONAS Akademi Badminton Malaysia (ABM) was successfully held on 8th of May 2026.

The programme featured a welcome address by Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) Assistant Honorary Treasurer cum BAM Deputy President 1, Datuk V. Subramaniam, followed by an introduction session by BAM Doubles Coaching Director Rexy Mainaky, Olympic gold medallist at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games.

Participants also had the opportunity to meet and interact with national badminton Olympians Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, the 2022 Men’s Doubles World Champions and two-time Olympic bronze medallists alongside Malaysia’s top women’s doubles pair, Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah.

The visit also included a fun match with the national junior players and a tour of the ABM facilities.

During the session, OCM Assistant Secretary General Moira Tan presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Badminton Association of Malaysia, received on behalf of BAM by Datuk V. Subramaniam.

The delegation comprised 38 Young Olympic Ambassadors representing 13 National Olympic Committees across Asia.
