Leong Hwee Ling and Teoh Min Yi strengthened their position at the top of the Girls' Doubles Under-16 Group B standings after extending their unbeaten run to five matches.

The pair maintained their perfect record with a 21-14, 21-18 victory over Johor's Chen Siew Siew and Ellis Ngi Cai Lin.

“I’m happy with the result as we have won all our matches so far, but we still need to cut down on our simple mistakes,” said Min Yi.

The pair also highlighted the challenge posed by the venue conditions, particularly the changing wind direction.

“When we switch courts, we have to adjust to the opposite wind direction. We need to be more precise with our shots and attacks,” she added.

Hwee Ling credited their strong understanding on court despite the occasional disagreements that come with doubles partnerships.

“If that happens, I’ll just ask Min Yi to stay calm, take a drink and reset. After that, we’ll get back on track,” said Hwee Ling.

“The match is already ongoing, so there’s no point arguing for too long,” she added.
