Out of ten matches involving national pairs, Malaysia secured seven crucial wins, creating a sensational giant-killing act in the Men’s Doubles.

Making their SUPER 1000 debut, the former world junior champions, Kang Khai Xing and Aaron Tai produced the tournament's biggest upset so far by dismantling India’s former Asian Games champions, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, in straight games (23-21, 21-12).

Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, securing their second win while cruising past USA’s team Chen Zhi Yi and Presley Smith (21-17, 21-17).

On the other hand, Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani continued their fine form, needing just 31 minutes to dismiss Japan’s Kakeru Kumagai and Hiroki Nishi (21-10, 21-15).

Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun secured a solid victory over Chinese Taipei’s Lee/Lee (21-17, 21-16).

​Arif Junaidi and Yap Roy King survived the day’s only three-game thriller for Malaysia, edging out Denmark’s Lundgaard and Vestergaard (21-19, 19-21, 21-18).

​The only blemish in this category was the exit of Nur Muhd Azriyn Ayub and Tan Wee Kiong, who fell to the Chinese Taipei pair of Chiu Hsiang Chieh and Wang Chi Lin with (18-21, 14-21).

In the Women’s Doubles, second seeds Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan were clinical, defeating Japan's Arisa Igarashi and Chiharu Shida (21-19, 21-13) to avenge a previous loss. 

However, youngsters Ong Xin Yee and Carmen Ting found the going tough against Japanese veterans Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsumoto, ending their campaign in straight sets with (17-21, 8-21).

In Mixed Doubles, the experienced Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai silenced the home crowd by comfortably dispatching England’s Callum Hemming and Estelle Van Leeuwen (21-14, 21-12).

Meanwhile, Wong Tien Ci and Lim Chiew Sien were unable to secure their win for the next round, despite taking the first game against China’s Guo Xin Wa and Chen Fang Hui with (21-17, 12-21, 9-21).
