In the women’s doubles final, World No. 2 Pearly–Thinaah delivered a commanding performance to overcome Japan’s Rin Iwanaga–Kie Nakanishi 21–7 21–9 in just 32 minutes.
The Malaysians were in control throughout, combining sharp front-court play with relentless attacking pressure to seal their second title of 2025 after the Thailand Open in May - and their sixth final appearance this season, underlining their growing consistency on the world stage.
In the men’s doubles, World No. 2 Aaron–Wooi Yik battled valiantly but fell just short against England’s Ben Lane–Sean Vendy, 18–21 27–25 17–21 after a gripping 75-minute contest.
The match was a nail-biter from the start, with both pairs trading intense rallies and pushing each other to the limit, as the Malaysians fought back bravely to force a decider after saving multiple match points in the second game.
It was still a commendable effort that earned Aaron–Wooi Yik their first runner-up finish in Vantaa and sixth final appearance of the year — a testament to their consistency and fighting spirit.
Both pairs will now shift focus to the Denmark Open, aiming to build on this momentum and continue Malaysia’s fine form on the world tour.
