Malaysia clinched the top spot in Group B with a decisive 5-0 victory over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the 2024 Asia Junior Mixed Team Championships in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, today.

The final group stage match saw Malaysia's mixed doubles pair, Kang Khai Xing and Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan, set the pace by defeating Dev Vishnu and Taabia Khan 21-9 21-13 in just 20 minutes.

Siti Zulaikha Muhammad Azmi then secured the second point for Malaysia in the women's singles by overcoming Mysha Omer Khan 22-20 21-10. Muhammad Faiq Masawi extended the lead to 3-0 with a solid win over Bharath Latheesh, 21-18 21-13.

The women's doubles pair, Ong Xin Yee and Carmen Ting, continued Malaysia's dominance by defeating Taabia Khan and Sakshi Kurbkhelgi 21-9 21-13. 

Malaysia completed their clean sweep with a victory from the men's doubles pair, Kang Khai Xing and Aaron Tai, who triumphed over Dev Ayyapan and Dhiren Ayyapan 24-22 21-18.

With this win, Malaysia advances to the quarterfinals to face India.
