Korea took an early lead through World No. 1 An Se Young, who defeated world No. 37 Karupathevan Letshanaa 21-11 21-11 in the opening singles.
The advantage was extended in women’s doubles as Korea’s experienced pair Baek Ha Na–Kim Hye Jeong overcame Ong Xin Yee–Carmen Ting 21-13 21-9 to put Korea 2-0 ahead.
In the third match, Wong Ling Ching was defeated by Park Ga Eun 21-16, 21-12 as Korea progressed to the semi-finals.
Malaysia’s campaign ended at the quarter-final stage in Qingdao, matching their 2024 result.
