Malaysian shuttlers endured a mixed day of results on Day 3 of the China Masters 2025 in Shenzhen.

In mixed doubles, eighth seeds Goh Soon Huat–Shevon Lai bowed out after a straight-games defeat to Taiwan’s Ye Hong Wei–Nicole Chan, 21-6 16–21 12–21.

However, 2025 world champions Chen Tang Jie–Toh Ee Wei kept Malaysia’s challenge alive with a 21–13 13–21 21–16 victory over Indonesia’s Jafar Hidayatullah–Felisha Pasaribu.

In men’s doubles, third seeds Goh Sze Fei–Nur Izzuddin Rumsani avenged their 2025 World Championships loss to Taiwan’s Lee Jhe-Huei–Yang Po-Hsuan, securing a 21–16, 22–20 win.

Meanwhile, in men’s singles, Leong Jun Hao put up a spirited fight but fell short against China’s Li Shi Feng, losing 11–21 21–19 8–21 in a hard-fought three-game battle.
