The World No. 3 duo tried to stage a comeback in the second game but fell 8-21 17-21 in 35 minutes to Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh–Supissara Paewsampran at the Shenzhen Arena.

Over in Pekanbaru at the Indonesia Masters I 2025 (SUPER 100), Jimmy Wong–Lai Pei Jing also came close to glory, battling through three games before going down 21-13, 21-23, 14-21 against Denmark’s Mathias Christiansen–Alexandra Bøje in the final.
