National women's singles shuttler, Myisha Mohd Khairul emerged victorious against Siti Nurshuhaini Azman in the battle between teammates at the Dutch International Badminton Series.
The Johor Bahru-born lass overcame Siti 21-19, 18-21, 21-19 in a three-set thriller to bag her career first international title.
"I feel very grateful and didn't expect to emerge as champion," said Myisha. The 19-year-old added that she hoped the Dutch victory would be a springboard for her to achieve greater success.
18-year-old Siti meanwhile conceded that her lack of composure and her physicality cost her the match. "Coach wants me to improve my game and my physical aspect. Coach also talked about fighting back for the next tournament," Siti added.
