Malaysia were assured of one men’s doubles slot in the quarter-finals after Aaron Chia–Soh Wooi Yik overcame compatriots Ong Yew Sin–Teo Ee Yi 21-10 24-22.

World No. 4 duo Goh Sze Fei–Nur Izzuddin Rumsani rediscovered their rhythm with a gritty three-game victory over the Taiwanese pair, Lee Jhe Huei-Yang Po Hsuan 18-21 23-21 21-14.

World No. 5 pair Man Wei Chong–Tee Kai Wun impressed with a comeback win against England’s Ben Lane–Sean Vendy, overturning their past three defeats to the pair with a 13-21 21-19 21-14 triumph.

Adding to the success, Arif Junaidi-Yap Roy King secured their place in the last eight after a confident 21-12 21-17 win over their Chinese opponents.

In mixed doubles, World No. 3pair Chen Tang Jie–Toh Ee Wei fell narrowly to Taiwan’s world No. 18 duo in a tense three-game battle, 22-20 17-21 22-20. Meanwhile, Goh Soon Huat–Shevon Jemie Lai advanced comfortably with a composed 21-13 21-10 win over the Scottish pair of Alexander Dunn-Julie MacPherson.

Malaysia’s sole remaining women’s doubles pair, Pearly Tan–M Thinaah, continued their consistent form with a commanding 22-20, 21-15 victory over their Chinese rivals Bao Li Jing-Zhang Shu Xian to reach the quarter-finals.
