In the women’s doubles, World No.2 Pearly Tan-Thinaah Muralitharan, who claimed bronze at the 2024 World Tour Finals, were pushed hard but eventually lost to Japan’s World No. 5 duo Yuki Fukushima-Mayu Matsumoto, going down 19-21 13-21.

Meanwhile, in the mixed doubles, World No. 4 pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei, also bronze medallists at the 2025 World Tour Finals, showed strong fighting spirit before falling to China’s World No. 2 pairing Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin in a gruelling three-set contest, 21-9 11-21 17-21.
