Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik made quick progress into the next round after junior pair Aaron Tai and Kang Khai Xing were forced to concede midway through the second game.

In mixed doubles, Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei suffered a first-round exit after losing to China’s Cheng Xing-Zhang Chi 16-21 19-21.
It was Tang Jie-Ee Wei’s first defeat against the China opponents after a previous encounter during Korean Open 2024.
In men’s singles, Justin Hoh fell 21-17 21-15 to his World No. 15 Chinese opponent, while Leong Jun Hao was forced to retire during his second game with the score standing at 21-5 8-3.
