Only two Malaysian doubles pairs progressed to the Round of 16 on the second day.

Malaysia's campaign got off to a strong start with World No. 11 Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Jemie Lai securing a straight-sets victory over USA's Chen Zhi Yi-Francesca Corbett (21-13, 22-20).

Another hard-fought victory followed as Jimmy Wong-Cheng Su Yin held their nerve to defeat World No. 14 Yuichi Shimogami-Sayaka Hobara (21-19, 11-21, 21-19).

Meanwhile, K. Letshanaa was unable to overcome Korea's World No. 14 Kim Ga Eun, falling 16-21, 12-21.

In the men's doubles, Azriyn Ayub-Tan Wee Kiong were knocked out by Japan's eighth seeds Takuro Hoki-Yugo Kobayashi (17-21, 14-21).

The Malaysia-Korea pair of Choi Sol Gyu-Goh V. Shem also bowed out after a 11-21, 11-21 defeat to China's World No. 5 Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang.

Making their first appearance together, newly formed pair Man Wei Chong-Soh Wooi Yik bowed out despite taking the opening game, as Chinese Taipei's Fang Chih Lee-Fang Jen Lee fought back to win 21-23, 21-17, 21-16.
