The quarterfinals today opened with a match between World No. 37 pair Jimmy Wong–Lai Pei Jing and Thailand’s Phuwanat Hurbanluwekit–Benyapa Aimsaard.

Jimmy Wong–Lai Pei Jing successfully booked their place in the semifinals after defeating the Thai pair 21-10 21-12 in just 27 minutes.

The victory reflects their consistent form this season, having finished as runners-up in six of the 12 tournaments they have competed in.

Malaysia’s Chia Wei Jie–Lwi Sheng Hao, however, failed to advance to the semifinals after going down to the United States’ World No.31 pair Chen Zhi Yi–Presley Smith.

The Malaysian duo fought hard but eventually lost in straight games, 15-21 15-21 in their first meeting.
