The Malaysian badminton contingent enjoyed a productive day at the Korea Masters 2026 quarter-finals, securing semi-final berths in the men's singles and men's doubles despite setbacks in the mixed doubles.

The day opened with Chen Tang Jie and Clarissa San taking on Japan's Haruki Kawabe and Kokona Ishikawa. Tang Jie and Clarissa narrowly missed out on the opening game before falling 20-22, 17-21 in 35 minutes.

Meanwhile, Cheam June Wei secured his place in the semi-finals after overcoming Chinese Taipei's World No. 49 Su Li Yang 23-21, 10-21, 21-18 in one hour and seven minutes.

Loo Bing Kun and Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan were unable to overcome China's Gao Jia Xuan and Wu Meng Ying, bowing out 14-21, 15-21 in 28 minutes.

Closing out the mixed doubles action, Jimmy Wong and Cheng Su Yin put up a valiant effort against home favourites Kim Jae Hyeon and Jang Eun Seo, eventually falling 17-21, 18-21 in 43 minutes.

In the men's doubles, national teammates Yap Roy King and Tee Kai Wun faced Aaron Chia and Aaron Tai in an all-Malaysian quarter-final.

Yap-Tee asserted their dominance from the opening game, maintaining control to secure a convincing 21-12, 21-15 victory in straight games.

Later, top seeds Man Wei Chong and Soh Wooi Yik stormed past India's Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy and Krishna Prasad Garaga. Man-Soh produced a commanding display to win 21-7, 21-8 in 26 minutes and book their place in the semi-finals.

The victory also marks Man-Soh's first semi-final appearance as a partnership, which is the strongest reason to keep that in the headline.
