World No. 2 Cheah Liek Hou breezed past Japan’s Taiyo Imai 21-13 21-11 at the Spanish Para Badminton International SU5 category final in Cartagena. Liek Hou took just 34 minutes to dismantle his opponent in a lopsided affair.
With the victory, the 33-year-old made it a remarkable 31 consecutive wins, a run dating back to October 2019. For the record, Liek Hou won two titles in 2021 after defeating world No. 1 Dheva Anrimusthi 14-21 22-20 21-18 in the final of the Fazza-Dubai International Badminton Championships
World No. 12 Ikhwan Ramli was inches away from doubling the joy for Malaysia after a 13-21 16-21 defeat in the men’s singles WH1 (wheelchair) category final against South Korea’s Lee Dong Seop.
