World No. 12 pair Pearly Tan-M Thinaah put up a gallant fight against Tokyo 2020 silver medallists Chen Qingchen-Jia Yifan, eventually succumbing 12-21 21-18 15-21 in a thrilling 74-minute semi-final match. This was their second defeat to the four-time world champions in the competition, having previously lost to them in the group stage.

In another hard-fought battle, world No. 3 Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik narrowly lost to top seeds and world No. 1 Liang Weikeng-Wang Chang, 19-21, 21-15, 17-21, in a gripping 68-minute clash at Port de la Chapelle. This marked the 2021 Tokyo Games bronze medallists' third loss to the Chinese pair in nine encounters.

On a brighter note, World No. 7 Lee Zii Jia delivered a commanding performance, defeating Anders Antonsen 21-17, 21-15 in the quarter-finals. Zii Jia will now face Thailand's world champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the semi-finals.
