#SEAGames2025 TEAM EVENTS FINAL: MALAYSIA’S MEN’S TEAM SETTLES FOR SILVER

In the finals of the SEA Games men’s team event in Bangkok, Leong Jun Hao put up a fight against Alwi Farhan Alhansy but was ultimately defeated in straight sets, 21–12 21–19, in 46 minutes.

Indonesia maintained their winning momentum as men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik were also defeated in 12-21 12-21 by Karyaman Gutama-Moh Reza Pahlevi in 34 minutes.

Meanwhile, in the men’s singles, Justin Hoh lost to Mohd Zaki Abdullah 12-21 14-21.

This result secured a silver medal for Malaysia, a repeat of the achievements in Cambodia two years ago.

The last time Malaysia won gold in the team event was at the 2005 SEA Games in Manila, where the national squad defeated Indonesia 3–2 in the final.

On the other hand, the Malaysian women’s squad secured the bronze medal after losing to Indonesia in quarterfinals.
