Ng Tze Yong led defending champions, Malaysia to a convincing 5-0 victory over Brunei in the Group B tie of the Selangor Badminton Asia Team Championships 2024 (SELBATC2024) at Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam.

Eogene Ewe, in his debut as third singles, secured Malaysia’s win through a 21-8 21-4 win over Matthew Minggat, following Leong Jun Hao's earlier contribution to the 2-0 lead.

Tze Yong secured the opening point with a comfortable 21-7 21-11 victory over Kan Kah Kit, and Jun Hao swiftly defeated Marhanif Ali with a score of 21-5 21-6 in just 19 minutes.

The team's dominance continued with straight set wins from other players, including Chong Hong Jian-Muhammad Haikal and Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani over Marhanif-Haziq Roze 21-5 21-12 and Minggat-Mohamad Iqbal Aysraf 21-9 21-7 respectively.
