Malaysia displayed resilience and fighting spirit in their Group Stage encounter against China, with several matches closely contested despite a challenging overall outcome.

In the opening men’s singles, Lim Boon Le started brightly but was narrowly edged 9–4 by Xiao Gao Bo.

The mixed doubles pair Loh Zi Heng–Nuraqilah Maisarah showed good coordination and teamwork but went down 18–7 to the experienced Chinese duo Chen Jun Ting–Cao Zi Han.

Damien Ling–Shazmir Shahrul produced a determined display in the men’s doubles before Chen Jun Ting–Liu Jun Rong prevailed 27–17.

In the women’s singles, Oo Shan Zi fought valiantly but eventually lost 36–22 to Xu Wen Jing, reflecting the high standard of play from both sides.

The women’s doubles pairing of Low Zi Yu–Nuraqilah Maisarah also showed great effort and determination, narrowly falling 45–36 to Cao Zi Han–Chen Fan Shu Tian.

Malaysia’s first win came courtesy of Ayu Fu Sheng, who delivered a composed performance to claim the second men’s singles 9–7.

The momentum continued as Tan Zhi Yang–Nicole Tan impressed with sharp attacking play to secure an 18–15 win in the second mixed doubles against Chen Jun Ting–Cao Zi Han.

Back on court for the second men’s doubles, Damien Ling–Shazmir Shahrul maintained a high level of intensity but were edged 27–22 in another close contest.

Oo Shan Zi once again demonstrated her fighting spirit in the second women’s singles before Xu Wen Jing sealed the tie 36–32.

The contest concluded with Low Zi Yu–Aqilah Ramdan delivering a spirited performance in the women’s doubles, narrowly going down 45–43 to Cao Zi Han–Chen Fan Shu Tian in a thrilling finish.

Malaysia will next face the USA in the 5–8th placing tie tomorrow.
