TAN SRI DATO’ SRI NORZA AWARDED HONORARY DOCTORATE IN SPORTS MANAGEMENT

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria, President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) and President of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), was today awarded with the Honorary Doctorate in Sports Management by the Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI).

The presentation took place during the 22nd UPSI Convocation ceremony which was presided by DYMM Raja Permaisuri Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, Chancellor of UPSI, at the Dewan Tuanku Canselor, Sultan Azlan Shah Campus, UPSI.

The UPSI Board of Directors meeting, on 27 April 2021, endorsed the recommendation of the Senate to award Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Norza with the Honorary Doctorate.

The award honours and shows appreciation for Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Norza’s dynamic leadership and outstanding contribution to sports, domestically and abroad. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Norza received the award for his dedication, commitment and sacrifice in the pursuit of sporting excellence for the country. 

"I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the UPSI leaderships for this award. It will certainly serve as incredible motivation for me to continue my commitment and dedication towards the betterment of sports in the country.

“What we have achieved have not been easy and it was the result of the hardwork of everyone involved to further advance sports in Malaysia," said Tan Sri Dato' Sri Norza Zakaria.
